Spiny Oyster is a shell primarily found in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez, off the coast of Baja California. Indian craftspeople began using the stunning shell in their jewelry making after seeing the vibrant colors available. A mix of Spiny Oyster colors and a touch of turquoise make this an exciting 24" necklace.  The artist used tumbled bits of the shell to give it an interesting casual look. It is finished with pen shell heishi, turquoise beads and sterling silver cones and clasps.
