DATE: Victorian, c.1860
A charming mid Victorian puffed heart locket with a little turquoise-petaled pansy in the centre. The remainder of the front is embellished with gorgeous engraved foliate detailing, and the back is furnished with a slightly convex rock crystal locket compartment. It's crafted in 15 karat gold, and the pansy in this instance is a rebus for "pensez à moi", or "think of me".
